How many are you going to eat today? Fruit and Vegetable Week in the Mediterranean Diet

It is not always easy but with a little patience and imagination we can make children eat fruits and vegetables and benefit from their nutritional richness. It is never too late to propose, and precisely we are immersed in the "Week of fruit and vegetables in the Mediterranean Diet".

This is a date chosen by the Spanish Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment that aims to boost the consumption of the foods that make up the Mediterranean Diet and explain the benefits and possibilities that this healthy lifestyle provides. Because yes, our children may have five servings of fruit and vegetables a day.

Remember that the decalogue of the Mediterranean diet for children includes recommendations such as eating many plant foods and eating fruit as a usual dessert, and that is that vegetables and fruits are an excellent source of hydration, vitamins, antioxidants, fiber ... all benefits!

On the website of the Ministry of Food, we can find different materials for this Fruit and Vegetable Week, such as posters, brochures and a delicious children's recipe book, in which Tomás el Crodrilo offers us ingenious and fun ideas to do with our children, along with advice for parents.

In addition, during these days various dissemination, information and awareness actions are taking place in different parts of Spain and next Saturday at 1:00 p.m., if you are in Madrid, do not miss the mass tasting in the Plaza Mayor, with games and activities for the whole family.
