Do you trust the gynecologist who "touches you"? : The question of the week

As every Wednesday, within our Answers section, we launch a question of the week, which, after this period, we will comment highlighting the most valued responses by readers.

This week I have been reflecting on the confidence we need to have in the medical professionals we go to, especially important for a pregnant woman and for the parturient.

Although all medical professionals are well prepared, there are very delicate and emotional issues in which the feeling of being understood and respected is important.

When we go to social medicine or medical insurance we have a certain capacity to choose the doctor in some cases, but in others the possibility of choosing is limited. So my question is this:

Do you trust the gynecologist who "touches you" or do you want to find a different one that makes you feel that respects your wishes about your birth?

It's without doubt that not all gynecologists approach childbirth the same, some are more interventionist and others defend natural childbirth, some work at home, others in clinics with very different protocols, and others will not attend you personally, but it will be the guard team of the hospital in the area who, in the end, is in childbirth

In the end, all that will influence medical decisions that will make them schedule a delivery, a caesarean section or use some practices or medications at a certain time. It will also depend on the doctor or the chosen center which allows us freedom of movement and posture, eating and drinking during labor, shaving or putting on an enema. And finally, knowing the episiotomy or caesarean section rates of the team can guide us to determine what internal causes influence this data.

Last week's question

Last week, linking with the special we have dedicated to homeopathy, we asked you this: Do you use homeopathy to cure the ailments of your children?

The response most valued by our readers has been that of Papádehugo.

I think the question itself does not make much sense, this question assumes that homeopathy can be cured and that is scientifically impossible. Taking a baby to the homeopath seems very irresponsible. It can be compared to wearing it without a car seat, or without a belt. Most people would say: “Well, I have done very well without putting the belt on the child, we have not had any accidents. I recommend it to everyone ”, yes, the small percentage that have accidents the belt can save their lives. In short, most people who use homeopathy do well, simply because they are not serious enough and heal themselves. But I don't intend to play the lottery with my son's health.

We have had opinions of all kinds, both those who would never use homeopathy and those who go to professionals who do recommend it, although, what I liked the most, has been to read the wonderful health of the children of users who have been encouraged to participate.

It is already published in the section of Answers The new question of the week. We remind you that you have a week to answer it and that you have to do it in the "Answers" section. The answers that you publish in that section and not here, will be taken into account for the selection that we will bring you next week.
