Homework for the summer: the inspiring tasks of an Italian teacher that we should all do

If you know me a little, you know that I don't like conventional duties, much less on vacations, that for a reason they are vacations. I find no sense for children to do boring and repetitive duties, although there are others, such as homework for the summer that an Italian teacher has sent to his students, which are inspiring tasks we should all do.

Summer is a time of joy and enjoyment, both for adults and children. With the experiences that summer brings them, they can learn as many things as they learn in the school year, and some much more important. They learn about friendship, freedom, tolerance, overcoming, generosity ...

An Italian teacher named Cesare Cata, a high school teacher at the Institute of Human Sciences 'Don Bosco' in Le Marche (Italy), has developed an unconventional summer homework list I advise you to adapt it to your children, according to their age, and to yourselves. I guarantee it will make you happier summer.

Take note: summer homework

  1. In the morning, when you walk along the beach, look at the reflection of the sun in the water, think about what you like most in life and feel happy.

  2. Try using all the new terms learned this year: the more things you say, the more things you can imagine and the more you can think, the freer you will feel.

  3. Read everything you can. But not because you have to. Read why summer inspires dreams and adventures and reading will feel like swallows on the fly. Read because it is the best form of rebellion you have. (If you want a suggested reading, ask me).

  4. Avoid all things, situations and people that influence you negatively: Look for the situations and the good company of friends who enrich you, who understand you and who appreciate you for who you are.

  5. If you feel sad or scared, do not worry: summer, like all wonderful things, can give us the odd problem. Try to write a newspaper where you express your feelings (in September, if you feel like it, we read it together).

  6. Dance Take off your shame. On the dance floor or in your room. Summer is a festival and it would be absurd not to be part of it.

  7. At least once in your life you have to see the dawn of a new day. Stay silent and breathe. Close your eyes and feel grateful.

  8. Do a lot of sport.

  9. If you find a person you like very much, tell them with complete sincerity. It doesn't matter if he / she ends up not understanding you. If it does not, he / she was not going to be part of your destiny. Otherwise, summer 2015 will be the great opportunity to walk together. (If this goes wrong, go back to step 8).

  10. Remember the notes of our classes.

  11. Be cheerful as the sun and indomitable as the sea.

  12. Don't say badly sounded words and always be polite and kind.

  13. If you are going to watch movies, do it in the original version to improve your language skills and your ability to dream. Don't let the movie end the credits; Re-live it during the summer.

  14. During the day or at night, dream about how your life can and should be. During the summer, gather all the strength you need to not give up what you want and do everything possible to pursue that dream.

  15. Be good.

I invite you to do these summer duties so special with whom you will surely learn a lot. In September I take you exam.
