The son of Santiago Cañizares dies at the age of five and the networks are filled with words of support

True, neither do adults. But when I see news like this, I can't stop thinking why children? After months of fighting, the disease won the battle by Little Santi, barely 5 years old, one of the sons of the exporter Santiago Cañizares who announced himself a couple of hours ago his death on social networks.

The disease had been detected a year and a half ago and he received constant medical treatment. His parents continually shared messages of struggle and hope in social networks under the hashtag # santicampeón. The same that accompanies today the toughest tweet ever written by the former soccer player.

My son Santi has passed away.
I think I have to tell you, in gratitude for all the support and affection I have received from you.
He has left surrounded by peace, and having understood his mission in these five years that has accompanied us. # Santicampeon

A few minutes later, his wife Mayte García left an emotional message on his Instagram account with a picture of the boy:

My love, my life, my angel, thank you for everything you have taught me and for The Peace you leave me. I will breathe and live for you. Always with me. I LOVE YOU

Although it seemed to evolve favorably, in recent weeks Santi suffered an unexpected relapse, and his parents canceled their work commitments to focus on the child.

Santi was one of the triplets that Cañizares had with his second wife in February 2013, together with Martina and India, a surprise for the couple who, after the birth of their first daughter, did not expect to increase the family triple.

On February 15 on the occasion of International Day Against Childhood Cancer, his mother shared a snapshot in which five hands could be seen together, and one of them could be that of the child.

Twitter is filled with words of support

After the announcement on Twitter, numerous personalities, including politicians, actors, anonymous followers, and of course personalities from the world of football showed their support for one of the most beloved players in our country.

I'm so sorry Santiago. There is no comfort, but thousands of people accompany you. Much encouragement to the whole family. DEP.

Every year, one thousand one hundred children receive a diagnosis of cancer in Spain, and although the incidence rate is low and has a survival of 70%, cancer is a devastating disease, both for the children who suffer it and for their families .

Our deepest condolences to the Cañizares family.
