The best for the baby's brain: vaginal birth

A scientific study recently published in the journal PlosONE has indicated that The best thing for baby's brain development is vaginal birth and that caesarean section could be harmful in that regard.

The reason is that vaginal birth causes the appearance of certain proteins that have an important protective effect on brain health.

The results of this study could change the way in which caesarean section is understood, making professionals more aware that it should only be performed in essential cases, since it is not exempt from undesirable side effects. That is, the necessary caesarean section saves lives, the unnecessary causes problems.

The point is that the natural birth tension would cause the UCP2 protein to be produced in large quantities, being a beneficial adaptation, since its effect is to protect from brain damage, promote the creation of synapses in the hippocampus and also, combined with substances from the placenta that reach the born baby, colostrum and breastfeeding, would be a true guarantee of optimal brain development.

Nature is wise. Letting her act we guarantee her best. Medical interventions should be left for cases where they are indispensable, as there are no changes in natural processes that do not affect so that we do not yet suspect.

Being born vaginally seems to be one of the pillars of correct brain development of newborns and caesarean section, by not allowing these natural reactions, could harm them.
