During pregnancy light foods?

In the market we can find a wide variety of light products, these are foods that have an energy reduction of 30% compared to the normal product. To achieve this reduction, the amount of carbohydrates is decreased, they also substitute sweeteners or decrease the fat intake using products that replace them.

You should not think about consuming these types of products during pregnancy, restricting caloric intake through light products is a big mistake. As you know, feeding during pregnancy should meet your baby's needs and your own. Adequate feeding during pregnancy will make your body more prepared for childbirth and for the production of milk for your baby. Light products do not cover the body's needs and are not part of a healthy and balanced diet during pregnancy. In addition there is an added risk when consuming these products, some of the sweeteners that are used can transfer the placenta and in large doses, cause damage to the baby.

According to experts, light foods should not be habitual foods in the diet of a pregnant woman, consuming an occasional product is not bad, but channeling the food around these types of products.
