Children eat less in summer; some suggestions

As happens to adults, in summer Children do not feel like eating in large quantities. Without a doubt, they prefer fresh and light meals.

Not because they eat less means they are poorly fed. With a balanced and refreshing diet Containing the necessary nutrients, proteins and vitamins is enough for them to have a balanced diet.

It is normal for them to prefer refreshing foods such as a salad to a lentil stew and then a steak. The same would happen to anyone.

Do not worry if you do not eat first course, main course and dessert. They can be supplanted by eating more times a day and of course, drinking a lot of liquid. Here are some suggestions of dishes that I prepare at home that may help you.

Rice and pasta salads are ideal for this time for their contribution of carbohydrates. You can prepare them with vegetables, hard boiled eggs, tomatoes, corn and tuna, and vary the ingredients. It is a super complete and fresh dish.

Summer is also an excellent opportunity for them to eat more pieces of fruit. In the middle of the morning and in the afternoon you can offer some seasonal fruit, either whole, in pieces, in a smoothie or in a fruit salad.

Sandwiches with cold cuts, tomatoes and lettuce can also be a good option.

Gazpacho is a refreshing dish that includes a good amount of vegetables and is a rich source of vitamins and fiber.

For its part, ice cream is a great contribution of calcium and children will be delighted with this dessert.

You see, with a little imagination in summer you can give your child a healthy diet even if he eats a little less.
