Act Against Allergy, platform to identify cow's milk allergy

Apparently, there are many health professionals who have difficulties when they must diagnose the first symptoms of cow's milk protein allergy. For this reason a platform (Act Against Allergy) has been created to identify it, with the purpose of educating and raising awareness among health professionals and parents.

This type of allergy usually affects 3% of the little ones, although the reality is that up to 15% of babies get symptoms. Thanks to the new platform, allergy action protocols will be created and criteria for an effective diagnosis and treatment will be unified. It is essential to detect cow's milk allergy early, to avoid possible aggressive treatments in babies.

Allergy to cow's milk proteins is an adverse reaction caused by the hypersensitivity of the baby's immune system and we can see it through clear symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, anemia or constipation. There are also other symptoms that betray its presence, various skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis or through wheezing. Directing this platform to pediatricians and healthcare personnel is necessary, since in many cases there is misinformation and confusion at the time of diagnosis. Thanks to the new platform, this situation will be minimized by improving the quality of life of affected babies.

In addition, activities will be promoted through the platform and didactic material will be provided to help parents and health personnel in the detection of the first symptoms of the allergy.

All steps aimed at promoting the proper development of the baby and at optimal health are necessary and important, they will always be well received.
