WHO Practical Guide to Prevent Child Violence

The WHO (World Health Organization) has just published a practical guide to prevent child violence, according to this guide, preventing abuse and violence against children is possible.

Violent actions and attitudes about children are unacceptable and in most cases it is suffered in silence by children at the hands of parents, relatives or caregivers within their homes. The consequences are really catastrophic influencing various aspects such as health, psychological development and even the possibility that they themselves become child abusers when they reach adulthood.

In Babies and more, we have repeatedly talked about the risks, figures or programs to try to eradicate child abuse and this new guide will be used to try to reduce cases of child abuse worldwide. With the title Preventing child maltreatment: a guide to taking action and generating evidence, it aims to be an orientation for the different countries that want to develop prevention programs on this type of events.

The guide also provides several reports related to the most critical ages, the incidence of economic problems or possible strategies to try to solve as much as this serious problem can be.

Hopefully this weapon launched by WHO has its effects and once and for all it can at least minimize such a growing problem.
