A bad relationship between siblings during childhood increases the risk of depression in adulthood

Apparently There is a link between the relationship of siblings during childhood with an increased risk of depression in adulthood, this is indicated by a group of researchers belonging to Harvard University. The relationship between siblings seems much more significant when it comes to suffering from this problem than the parents' behavior with the child.

At the moment the results only refer to the male members of the family, the data of 229 men who were 18 years old at the start of the study were taken, it lasted 30 years. Child relationships, experiences, problems, joys, everything influences the child's education and the result is reflected when he reaches adult status, the data offered by the study are very significant.

The breakdown of the 229 subjects undergoing the study is as follows: 15% of children who had a bad relationship with their mother and 16% in whose families there was a history of depressive symptoms suffered depression. 26% of the subjects who maintained bad relationships with their siblings, whether very difficult or destructive, also suffered depression in an adult state. Another significant fact that the researchers show about the relationship we mentioned and with which the influence of the good relationship between the brothers can be deduced is the following: the children who had parents who provided them with a normal childhood but who had bad relations with the Brothers had up to 9.9% chance of developing depression in the future, however, children who also enjoyed a good relationship with their siblings, only reached a 2.3% chance of suffering from the problem.

If the situation is combined, the data is triggered, a child whose family has a history of depression and also has a bad relationship with his siblings increases the risk by up to 30%. Obviously the childhood of a child is marked by various aspects, trying to make them positive will reduce the risk of suffering various disorders in addition to providing greater happiness.
