Dictionary of exotic baby names

Choosing the baby's name is one of the most typical dilemmas of couples expecting a child. There are parents who already have the name more or less chosen even before knowing the sex of the baby and there are others who take months to find him. I know even couples whose baby has no name until a few hours after being born.

The fact is that as the choice is often complicated many parents end up pulling books or listings in which to see names, as if it were a catalog (we did it with our first child, which we did not give any name that we liked ).

Among the books I comment there is one that is already a few years titled Exotic baby names in which its author, Monica Stevens (who did not like too much that in her class of 23 girls there were four more Monica), lists and explains exotic names for boys and girls, in order to have more alternatives and offer more variety to the parents.

The baby's name is going to be the identity stamp of our son for the rest of his life, so we must as parents try to avoid the bad drink that some babies take when the parents go funny and try to give them their own personality avoiding the names of the parents (whoever does it, but from own experience, it is boring to say a name and answer two people), among other things that we can consider.

The book, as I said, is already a few years old, so I think it cannot be bought. However, it is partially available in Google Books, where you will surely find a few ideas. For now I have discovered that "Akira", a name I know from the movie of the same name, is of Japanese origin and means "joy", that "Eneko", which is Basque, is an old version of the name "Íñigo" or "Iñaki", also Basque and that "Liam", a name I like, is Irish and means "who protects himself with his own will".

The pity is that being a partial version, the part for girls is very short, too, and there are few names we can see. In any case, if you want to see this version that I tell you, you can do it here.
