Children's film premieres: 'Featherbirds, flying adventures'

Today a children's film arrives at the Spanish theaters with some nice birds as protagonists: 'Featherbirds, flying adventures'.

A production movie Argentina of 2010 that I now find on the Spanish billboard and that is considered as an option of children's cinema that we can take advantage of in the coming days.

This movie is directed by Daniel De Felippo and Gustavo Giannini and, of course, it is curious at least because it is an Argentine production of animated films. Is a alternative to the usual blockbusters that come to us from Hollywood and that, although they have less promotion, at least they deserve a chance.

What's up 'Featherbirds, flying adventures'

This movie tells the story of a city sparrow, called Juan, who has great flying skills. He is conceited and always looks, although his dream is to become an exotic bird.

Meanwhile, we know in another place in the city Feifi, a female canary that lives in captivity and wants to be free to enjoy the wildlife. One day Feifi escapes and meets friends like the female bat, Clarita, the Pipo hummingbird and the Libyan dove with whom they share fun adventures in the city, along with Juan.

What can we expect?

One of the main attractions, beyond history and being an animated film, is that it has managed to reap a good number of awards. This is a guarantee at least that it is not an independent production film and that goes unnoticed.

It is a film without too many pretensions, a story of dream search, to assume their own identity and, mainly, to entertain the little ones with an adventure starring friendly birds.

The movie is not an animation prodigy, especially if we compare them with Pixar or DreamWorks productions, but they get some characters sympathetic that will capture the attention of the little ones. In addition, the fact of telling an adventure full of action and humor, make it more attractive to them.

An unusual production of Latin American cinema

As a curiosity we can comment that it is the first 3D animation movie done by computer using free software, which makes it a unique production. And more in the times that run, where Hollywood blockbusters take center stage, budget and have abundant resources.

After more than three years of production and development, it premiered in Argentine movie theaters in February 2010. And that same year it accumulated several awards (as can be seen on its official website).

This film has also had the advice of one of the leading figures of Argentine and Latin American cinema: Juan José Campanella. That after winning the Oscar with 'The secret of his eyes' has also directed an animation tape and collaborated on it to make this difficult production have the best options.

Values of 'Featherbirds, flying adventures'

As I said, the film is nothing more than an excuse to offer fun without many pretensions. But that story of overcoming, of the search for dreams and goals, of working in teams, tolerance, ... are values that appear reflected and that the little ones will find themselves between moments of action.

You can take a look at the trailer and look on the billboard if you are interested in going with your little ones. Of course, since it is an independent production and with the little promotion it has had, it is likely that it will not reach many rooms.
