We are in the middle of summer and the days of intense heat, typical of the month of August, are close to forced marches. If we want to be cautious, we must be very careful with children, especially if they spend long hours playing outdoors. We have to plan our activities taking into account the heat, so we will make these much more fun and safe vacation.
Needless to say, we should always carry insect repellent, sunscreen, water, cleaning wipes, a cereal bar and whatever it is so that you are not caught off guard by thirst, hunger or mosquitoes in full outdoor activity.
Here are some of our favorite activities to do with children in summer:
Picnic breakfast
If your children are like the vast majority of children in the world and wake up practically before the rooster sings, we can take advantage to go to a park that we have near home for breakfast, which will surely still be cool and practically empty. If your park has picnic tables you can take the opportunity to have breakfast there, but, in the old way, you spread a tablecloth on the floor and have breakfast. What can you take for a picnic breakfast: freshly squeezed orange juice, milk bottles with screw cap, sandwiches, peasant bread, sausages, fresh fruit ... This is one of the activities that I remember most from my childhood. I was passionate about cleaning my bike and seeing how clean it was compared to how it was before. We will need some buckets of soapy water, some soft sponges and non-slip shoes. With this activity we have guaranteed at least one hour of fun. We can take advantage and clean all the assortment of biker toys that our children have, from tricycles, motorcycles, bikes, skateboards, toy cars ... If we have a hose, we can surprise our children while cleaning with a good hose to cool them, you can end up being the foam party, who knows!Obstacle races inside the house
This is one activity for those summer rainy days in which we usually find ourselves without ideas to do with the children at home. You can organize obstacle courses marking different seasons With things you have at home, for example, in one of the stations, you can put a blindfold and three balloons filled with different materials to find out what is inside. In another we can put a towel and a sign that says: do the somersault forward and backward. In another you can tie several ropes between 3 chairs and make them repeat below as if they were Tom Cruise in Mission Impossible.Treasure map
We make a treasure map that will always end in a fun activity for children. You could end up in a bath in the lake, the beach, an air-conditioned bookstore and a good ice cream ... To reach our goal, we will make several obstacles along the way, maybe you could ride a kind of gymnast with clues to find the next clue ...Play the Indians at home
This is another activity for rainy days with childrenWith a pair of sheets, large cushions and a little imagination, we can build a tent with all its comforts. It can be fun to take some flashlights and some good stories and get us all inside read tales.Cooking with children
