Sony Computer Spain presents PlayStation First

Sony Computer Entertainment España (SCE Spain) and ESNE, University of Design and Innovation, presented in January 2013 the first edition of PlayStation First, a academic association program for videogame development. The goal is for young talent to create content for PlayStation platforms and make the video game industry competitive.

James A. Armstrong is the CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment for Spain and Portugal and states that Spain is the best country in the world for the Playstation business thanks to the fact that the market has expanded towards the children's and family segment, causing the gaming age to start from the age of 8. So they have launched this alliance to guarantee the growth of the sector in Spain by offering well-organized training programs focused on the reality of the videogame world.

The agreement between SCE Spain and ESNE will allow undergraduate students to access the official tools necessary to develop content for PlayStation Network (PSN), PlayStation Vita (PS Vita), PlayStation 3 (PS3) and PlayStation Mobile (PSM). In addition, young people will have the supervision and advice of professionals from SCE Spain in several fundamental areas such as: graphic arts, development, marketing and business.

In Esne they use work methods focused on their students learning from the first year all the processes of design, production and presentation of video games. Students make public presentations in Spanish and English of their work on a quarterly basis to their peers, teachers and prominent representatives of the video game industry.

It is certainly a important agreement that takes advantage of the good health of the video game in Spain with many platforms and video games available and that generates many expectations.
