Ánfora software creates Purppeng to favor the schooling of children from developing countries

Purppeng It is an educational platform oriented to mobile devices. Manage dynamic content that can be developed by educators and that students can use from their mobile devices both online (connected) and disconnected (offline) allowing them to access content without restrictions.

The Purppeng platform is developed by Amphora Software, an independent NGO that is not part of any political, religious or business group. Ánfora Software has indicated that, after a two-year work process, it has already carried out a pilot test of the project in collaboration with the Madrid school JOYFE.

With Purppeng, educators can also create educational material easily and offer it to students individually or to groups. The educators will be able to follow the evolution of the students since the platform records the activity of each student.

Using Purppeng just started the project Ocotal in Nicaragua that aims to offer educational opportunities to 40 girls between the ages of 8 and 14 living in an environment in which 20% of the children are not in school and 70% do not have the minimum knowledge that corresponds to their age.

And it is that most of the girls usually work in street sales, their families do not assign any importance to education, in most cases these girls come from unstructured families with very low purchasing power in an economy based on agriculture of subsistence with levels of nutrition and hygiene below the established standards.

The Ocotal project is based on five basic pillars: nutrition, hygiene, education, self-recognition and social interaction capacity. And the contents are being developed by experts in the field and supported by the Purppeng platform.

Although it is expected that in the next three years, 4.5% of Spanish children between the ages of six and twelve (approximately 135,000 children) are benefiting from the Purppeng project, it seems to me that the objective of this platform is Reach countries where needs are critical.

We will be very attentive to the evolution of Ánfora Software and the projects it is developing to improve the education of the most needy. It is a very interesting way to monetize this type of projects that focus on the use of technology in environments where there is hardly any infrastructure and that have enormous development potential.
