El País and Endesa convene the XIII edition of El País de los Estudiantes

The country Y Endesa summon the XIII edition of The Country of the Students. It is about offering teachers a playful and educational tool through which students learn the value of information and develop their critical capacity. The challenge is Promote teamwork, the use of new technologies and reading, thanks to the didactic use of the press.

On the Students page teachers and students can already register, form teams and work to create your own newspaper, in paper and / or digital format. By participating, they will turn the classroom into the writing of their own newspaper by acting as authentic editors, photographers, designers, etc. The Country of Students is a free program aimed at professors and students of 2nd cycle of ESO, Baccalaureate and FP of Middle Grade.

Participants have to choose what content they will develop in the five sections that make up the newspaper. To do this they will have to investigate, choose a journalistic style, illustrate the contents and layout, using an online design tool, a newspaper in paper and / or digital format. In addition, students can write their own blog and share their experiences and lessons. In the explanatory video, lasting six minutes, you can find many clues and information to complement the information.

El País and Endesa help students to use the newspaper daily in the classroom or access a digital subscription, and they can also consult the weekly supplement specialized in students. And they are not the only resources available because the web page of the program includes many more helpful content in addition to several communication channels to convey your doubts or questions. To make the site more dynamic, students can access a leisure space in which they can play and compete to win attractive prizes.

It is a very interesting initiative although it seems to me that more than making newspapers, students would have to build new forms of sustainable communication, in which the information is prime, better if they also have talent, and especially that they serve to sell advertising. In any case they are great educational proposals for wake up in the young qualities such as leadership, humility, collaboration, critical vision, adaptation to the challenges and the desire to learn that surely they will not moderate during their entire professional career.
