"César", an impressive series of photographs of babies born by caesarean section

Babies that appear in newborn films do not usually show reality. They do not appear with traces of blood, vernix, wrinkles and with the umbilical cord beating. French photographer Christian Berthelot has drawn a series of photographs of babies born by caesarean section, "César", which realistically shows this magical moment.

Aesthetically, the images are far from traditional photos of newborn babies, but capturing those moments when babies have a few seconds of life (like Romane, at eight seconds, in the cover image) acquires a deeper and more exciting meaning .

Although caesarean section is not the best for the baby, too many are still being practiced in the world, particularly unnecessary caesarean sections that do not come from a real emergency situation and this series of images is likely to come from here, from scheduled caesarean sections.

Although it is true that some of them are necessary because they save the life of the baby or the mother. But, as we always say, If surgical intervention is not necessary, then vaginal delivery is much better.

In any case, "César" photographs impact because of their realism and I find them very beautiful. It is true that the role of the mother is subtracted and the medical staff appears in the foreground next to the baby, but this is how this type of birth happens.

What do you think about these photographs of babies born by caesarean section? Do you keep such a shocking picture of the newborn? Do you think they are too realistic and that it is better to see the baby a little more "clean"? I leave you with a series of images of "César".
