The beautiful report that a photographer made of her own birth

In Babies and more we have offered you on several occasions beautiful images of photographers who take pictures of births, hired by parents, who want to keep an unrepeatable moment for the memory (because each birth is unique) seen with the eye of an expert person to capture those moments.

What we have not seen is what happens when it is a photographer who decides to capture what happens in her own birth, which is what Lisa Robinson-Ward did: a beautiful report of your own birth, thanks to your expert hands.

Since pregnancy, he decided to do it

Lisa is a photographer specialized in weddings and portraits. As soon as she learned that she was pregnant, last year, it was clear that she would try to carry out a new challenge: be herself the one who will capture the essence of her labor and the moment of expulsion.

This baby was a surprise that they no longer expected. As we read in The Huffington Post, Lisa and her husband have a 9-year-old son and for several years they were trying a new pregnancy that culminated in another child. Yes she got pregnant twice, but both suffered a miscarriage. Then they decided to stop trying and settle for what fate had given them. Thus, when they no longer expected it, they achieved a pregnancy that resulted in the birth of his daughter Anora, who is now 6 months old.

He thought that doing what he knows best during childbirth would help him to be calm

Besides being able to always remember the moment, he thought that if I was with the camera I could be more calm and focused. I doubted if at that time I would be able to do it, but in the end it did, and the result is very curious, as you will see in the photos.

Lisa arrived at the hospital with rhythmic contractions and there she thought she would be unable to take the camera. However, between one and the other, he still had time to capture the unit, and some of what later surrounded it:

Then they put the epidural and it made her feel that she controlled more what she was doing, and partly because of her husband's support:

He asked the doctor if he had any problem with him taking pictures of his birth, and said no. When he entered the room and saw her with the camera on his face, he was a little surprised:

On the one hand, he worried that when he was waiting for the camera he would not enjoy the birth, but He felt totally present in the moment and participates in it. In addition, she was able to fall in love even more with her husband when she saw her reaction after meeting her daughter:

Anora She is a very calm girl, who sleeps a lot, who is very sweet, and who seems very happy:

After birth, she had it in contact with skin and skin and immediately breastfed her:

Finally, Lisa's mother took the camera and took this snapshot in which, finally, we meet the mother:

But ... how to be aware of your delivery if you are worried about taking pictures?

Surely more than one and more than one wonders this. I ask myself because without being a mother, I have always thought that childbirth is such an intimate moment that would not invite a person to photograph him. On the other hand, it tastes bad not to have any memories, and there are beautiful birth photos that many would love to have something like that.

In my case, I didn't even take pictures, because I preferred to be for her, for what I was doing, for what I felt, for supporting her, and I decided to see the birth with my eyes and not through the lens of a camera. If I had been a woman, if I had to give birth, I would have tried the same thing, to concentrate on my birth, at every moment, at every contraction and every rest, and at disconnect the mind to let the torrent of hormones sprout that makes it possible to give birth just as a woman's body knows. At least Is this what those who know most about births recommend, and I would try.

But as we always say, each person is free to choose how to deal with their birth and in this case, Lisa Robinson-Ward thought that it was best for her to take the camera and get this report that, no doubt, few people in the world will have : one in which the mother herself is the one who shows her birth.
