Disconnect your mobile this summer and connect with your children; for his sake, and for yours

Look at the mobile absorbed while your children play around you, or while they eat, or while they are talking to you. Surely, unfortunately, these scenes are familiar to all of us. And it is that in the society in which we live, in which both the imminent information and the updates in our social networks prevail, it seems difficult to get off the phone.

But it is possible to do it and also, highly recommended and beneficial. Spend time with our children and to share with them moments of game, conversations and fun without the mobile interfering, is our recommendation, not only for this summer, but for the rest of the year.

On the beach and pool, nothing mobile

We will not tire of repeating that on the beach and the pool our eyes must be permanently on our children. In the #ojopequealagua campaign, to which we join to raise awareness about the dangers of losing sight of children for a few seconds while bathing, we already talked about this issue and the importance of apply the 10/20 rule which consists of looking at the water every 10 seconds and, in an emergency, being able to help the child in less than 20 seconds.

Yes We lose attention and focus on our phone, it becomes impossible to monitor the child frequently and considering that a child needs only a couple of centimeters of water and less than two minutes to drown, our distraction could be fatal.

How long does it take to update our status on social networks? And in making the perfect photo to share with friends? And in reviewing the publications of our contacts? Unfortunately, the time a child needs to drown

But in addition, the mobile phone deprives us of enjoying our kids in the water: their scary faces when someone splashes them, their funny stunts while splashing, their contagious laughter and their "mom, look!" How proud they are.

Enjoy summer without mobiles!

But beyond the pool or the beach, children need the company and the attention of their parents, and again the mobile and other electronic devices come to alter that need to spend more time with ours.

The use of phones and tablets is not something of the summer, but at this time of year it is perhaps more pronounced. We have more free time and that affects greater use of technologies, when the really interesting thing would be Dump that free time and vacation in the little ones.

The complicated and dangerous thing about this "distracted parenting" is that we are rarely aware of it, being our children who, on many occasions, end up giving us a jerk of ears because of our absorbed behavior.

Therefore, we propose Set aside the mobile this summer and dedicate ourselves exclusively to what we love most: our children. Perform home activities with them, outdoor games or family leisure alternatives where neither the calls, the messages, nor the publications of others alter that moment that, paradoxically, we have been waiting all year.
