A family, who went through three painful losses before receiving their rainbow baby, He decided that his eldest daughter would attend the birth of his third daughter, a second rainbow baby, to celebrate that wonderful moment.
When little Brooke was three years old, her mother Kelsey Davis announced that she was pregnant and in a matter of months she would become an older sister. To celebrate and give the great news, they held a photo shoot in which Brooke appeared with a blackboard that said: "I will be an older sister!", and posted the photos on Facebook, sharing it with friends and family. However, a few weeks later, Kelsey lost the baby.
"Brooke was absolutely desolate. He cried a lot and did not understand why. Like his mother, I told him that God had decided to stay with the baby and that the baby was too precious for the earth. That helped him find some calm in the loss. Over the next four years, I had two more abortions. Finally, in 2015 Kelsey became pregnant again, and waiting long enough, they shared with Brooke the news that a baby would soon arrive in the family. Two years later in 2017, again Kelsey became pregnant and would be another girl! When the end of pregnancy approached, Brooke said he would like to be in his mother's room again when his other little sister was born, who would be called Summer. Since Kelsey knew how special it was for Brooke, he thought it would be a good idea to get her more involved and that it was she who cut the umbilical cord.
After talking to his midwife, who told him that even Brooke could receive her little sister, which made this lovely older sister very happy. During the previous days, they prepared Brooke, explaining what he should do and what would happen, so that I was not afraid and knew what things were normal during a birth.
Because he had passed his probable due date for several days, they ended up inducing labor and Brooke never separated from her mother: "He massaged my feet, stroked my head, danced together to the beat of the baby's beats on the fetal monitor.
