The first toy: his own hands

By the third month, the baby has made great progress and becomes more active. We observe in him a great interest in everything new: people, toys, different situations and there is something in particular with which he will be fascinated: his own hands and fingers. He will begin to observe them in detail, to suck them, he will shake them when he sees something he likes and will be able to separate them and put them together.

As the "grab" reflex progresses, it begins to disappear with which the baby can see the fingers individually instead of seeing them in a fist position.

The discovery of his hands is the first step to be aware of himself. Your hands will be your first toy. A good exercise to contribute to psychomotor development is to hang a mobile so that the baby can reach and touch the figures with his fingers. Show him his hands by repeating "These are your hands, the hands of ...", move them, make palms, massage your hands, tell them they are cute while you touch them.

Also remember the beautiful sleight of hand games such as "five wolves", "the spider", "torticas" or others that are played in your region. Remember that this moment your hands are your main center of interest and everything related to them you will love.
