Fear of getting a haircut

Around two years, fear appears in the child's life in various ways. From the night fears to fear that the water from the bath drains down the drain (yes, it is true!), Loud noises, strangers ... and also cut your hair.

They are still right, someone who approaches your head armed with scissors does not give very good feelings. He fear of getting a haircut It is a curious fear, but quite common in children.

To try to wipe out that fear we can start by cutting a strand of hair to a doll or even letting a small strand of hair be cut off so that they see that it doesn't hurt. Of course, make it clear that you should not go around cutting strands of friends right and left. For some children, cutting their hair at home can help them feel more confident and have less fear. On the other hand, there are others who seem wild at home and in the hairdresser they stay still like kittens while they cut their hair.

If this is not the case, we can take a toy or sit them on our knees so they feel safer.

Maybe we could try to change the term "cut" the hair (we always tell them that cutting hurts) by "fixing" or "changing" the hair.
