Blood loss in childbirth, the most common cause of death

New and chilling data on women who die during or after childbirth, on the eve of World Blood Donor Day, data offered by the WHO (World Health Organization) to launch a campaign for pregnant women who do not have access to healthy blood donations.

The number of pregnant women who die from large blood losses during childbirth amounts to 125,000 a year, while for other problems that may arise during pregnancy more than 500,000 die, almost all from Africa or Asia.

Attempts are still being made to meet the United Nations objective of reducing the death rate of mothers worldwide, which is why this campaign aims to expand voluntary blood donations by ensuring that they are disease free. They also warn about the existing trade in blood donations, who receives money for donating their blood has no qualms about lying about the possible risks of their blood being infected, the evidence indicates, the highest pollution rates have been found among people who donate their blood in exchange for money.

We remember that tomorrow is World Blood Donor Day, but blood banks are open to donations every day.
