2,000 water toys removed so far by the Directorate General of Consumption

The arrival of summer is very associated with the purchase of all kinds of accessories whose main theme is water, mats, floats, children's pools, toys ... in short, a large number of accessories whose purpose is the fun and safety of the most Small in the aquatic environment.

As every year, hundreds of products are removed because they do not guarantee the safety of our children, so far, the General Directorate of Consumption has already withdrawn more than 2,000 water toys. Almost all have defects in their safety measures, the lack of non-return valves is perhaps one of the main reasons. These valves prevent air from leaving any of the inflatable items when the cap is removed, thus avoiding a possible accident caused by the curiosity of the child playing with the cap. As always, the stores where these types of items are sold without guarantees, without instructions and without the seal of the European Union are the so-called multi-price stores, an evolutionary variant of the "all-to-100" stores.

The withdrawal of 2,000 products shows that the controls to prevent the entry of these products in our country is not very effective. Luckily, inspections do happen in stores and manage to avoid the sale of these dangerous accessories. If you have to buy any of the items we have mentioned, you must make sure that it meets all the safety standards that guarantee its proper functioning and health.

When it comes to the safety of our children, it does not compensate to buy a cheaper item, it can be really expensive.
