To me this seat has always seemed very practical, especially for the stage in which babies still do not know how to sit alone because it is very beneficial for the development of their spine. Not only I liked it but two million parents from all over the world who bought it, half only in the United States.
But yesterday the Consumer Product Safety Commission of that country announced the withdrawal in collaboration with the manufacturer of one million seats Bumbo Easy Seats before 28 reports of accidents due to falls of babies of high surfaces with consequences of blows, some quite serious.
The Bumbo seat warns in its manual that it should only be placed at ground level, because it does not have a seat belt and logically if we sit the baby in the seat on an elevated surface such as a table, a sofa or a bed it is very possible that the Baby move and fall.
It literally says (although in English): "It was designed to be used at ground level only. Never leave your baby unattended, this seat is not designed to restrict movements and therefore your baby can escape in case of a strong movement." .
However, on the floor it is not advisable to leave the baby alone without supervision, it must always be under the supervision of an adult.
In Spain it has also sold a lot, so if you have one at home follow the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid accidents. The product itself is not dangerous, but if it is misused as with many other items, we put the baby at risk.
