64,000 toys removed in the Community of Madrid in two weeks

Toys are sometimes far from being an instrument of entertainment, fun or learning and more before news like this, in the last two weeks the municipal police of Madrid has withdrawn from the market no less than 64,000 toys that could represent a danger to children.

In these toys the lack of informative labels was the dominant tonic, remember that it is necessary that the toys incorporate the regulatory label of the European Union, an endorsement that certifies (to some extent) the absence of possible dangers for children. By the way, it seems that the owners of these toys had the intention of labeling them fraudulently with stickers under the acronym CE in Italian, this gives us to think, how many times have they performed this type of action? The withdrawal of products that do not meet the safety standards grows every year, despite the alarm generated during the last months and the existing alert envelope regarding this problem, toys are still sold without guarantees, but also, in greater amounts. As we read in the digital publication of El País, Consumo only has 15 inspectors to detect all these incidents in the community, they have the collaboration of distributors, stores and producers for this purpose.

At the moment this year the 200,000 items seized last year have already been exceeded, there are 255,287 and possibly this number increases when the year ends, a good part are toys. If you wish to have more knowledge about products that do not comply with current regulations, through the Consumer Portal of the Community of Madrid you can access a list of all those that have been removed so far.
