"Moms of the world": unites us more than separates us

This book offers us a trip in images across the five continents through photographs of great beauty, where we can appreciate that the love that all mothers feel towards our children in any corner of the planet, is above any other geographical, economic or cultural difference.

Oxytocin (That hormone of magical love, which women segregate in childbirth, during all breastfeeding and in close physical contact, and that allows us to fall in love and bond more with our creatures) does not understand borders because it is inherent in human beings.

But something we can reflect on all the women in the world is how we have allowed certain unethical social customs (at all levels, from physical to emotional) they have imposed themselves on our instinct and heart in raising our children: ablation in Africa, female infanticide in Asia, child abuse in any country, the millions of children who cry and they suffer alone every night in the West before the passivity and insensitivity of their parents, the great current detachment, etc.

In the touching photo of the cover we can see a mother resting with her son, skin to skin, together, tuning in to their hearts (and not with a stuffed animal that mimics the heart rhythm of an absent mother), respecting each other as people with the same rights to love, protection and comfort.

Hopefully that spirit of the image is the one that predominates in the next times in Humanity!

The book is published by La Galera, the graphic edition by Anne Lauprête, has 38 pages and costs about 9 euros

This post is dedicated to reader Caris who is interested in the mothers of the world and all mothers with a heart.
