Alert on toys that increase in size on contact with water

The warning is not new, but we see that these types of toys are still being sold despite their danger.

Facua has just warned about the risk of these seemingly harmless toys that by putting them in contact with water multiply their size up to 600% when European regulations on toy safety establish that if they are manufactured with expandable materials they should not increase their size by more than 50%.

It is a crocodile, a dinosaur and a chicken that are sold loose or inside eggs, cages or fish tanks under the name of Crocodile Egg, Duck Egg and Dinosaur Egg. The child may bite a piece, come into contact with saliva and gastric juices and enlarge and may cause asphyxiation or gastrointestinal lesions.

In Spain, fourteen models of this type of toys that come without an importer label have been detected. In addition to the three named before, there are eleven more: Grow A Leprechaun (a goblin), Colored Growing Ocean World (fish in a fishbowl), Alien Embryo, Growing Alien (both with aliens), Growing Skeleton (a skeleton), Growing Monster Family (a monster that comes out of a coffin), Chicken Egg (an egg with a chicken), Snake Egg (an egg with a snake), Magic Dinosaur Growing (a dinosaur) and two other models of eggs with dinosaurs labeled as Hatch ' em.

Pay attention to what we buy or give to our children as there are many toys that are manufactured in China without any guarantee of safety.
