Online short film competition on the Rights of the Child

Today we bring to our pages an initiative that aims to sensitize society about children's rights. It's about the First Online Short Film Contest on the Rights of the Child, launched by the General Council of Spanish Law.

Coinciding with the 50th Anniversary of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the 20th of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, the General Council of Advocacy has wanted 2009 to be "A whole year for the Rights of the Child". And they have launched, with the collaboration of the Children's Platform, which brings together 44 Spanish NGOs, this contest aimed at children and young people from 6 to 17 years.

For this they have created the web Yotambientengoderechos.com, where you can check all the rules of the contest, as well as watch the videos that participants leave. You can participate in the contest until May 30.

The organizers also have other actions planned to celebrate this year, such as an International Photography Contest on the rights of children and an exhibition, a comic to disseminate those rights, a Dictionary of the Minor for Lawyers and "My rights", which will be another Dictionary to bring children their own rights.

The objectives of the online short film competition on the Rights of the Child they are to make children's rights known to children and young people themselves, as well as to the elderly, so that they respect them and enforce them without exception or discrimination.

Also favor the necessary conditions for children to be educated in a spirit of peace, dignity, tolerance, freedom, equality and solidarity. Undoubtedly commendable goals that are never wrong to get closer, since every day we realize that they are still far from being widespread.
