Christmas is a time full of magic, joy and illusions. And one of these is the one that children have for meeting Santa Claus and having the opportunity to talk with him, to tell him about what they have done and the gifts they would like to receive on these dates.
For a particular child, meeting Santa Claus was also a very special wish, but he worried his mother was not a good experience, because she suffers from blindness and autism. Fortunately, Santa Claus, with all his magic, kindness and patience, gave the little boy an unforgettable encounter.
Misty Wolf is the name of the mother of the child in question, little Matthew. He was born prematurely at 24 weeks of his mother's pregnancy and because of this, Matthew presented retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in stage 5, in which a retinal detachment occurs, which left him totally blind.

I whispered to Santa Claus "'He's blind and autistic, and he's very interested in Santa Claus." He replied "say no more" and immediately squatted to greet my little man.
He talked with Matthew for a long time. He let her touch his face and feel it. He told him to pull his beard, feel his hat and told him about his red suit. He asked Matthew if he wanted to feel something special and Matthee said "his eyes that shine" (for the poem 'A Visit of St. Nicholas' by Clement C. Moore), so Santa allowed him to touch him and feel his eyes and all around him for as long as Matthew wanted.
Then Santa asked him if he had ever felt a real reindeer, and carried him to the area where they had a Christmas landscape. He and Matthew caressed the reindeer they had placed there. It was wonderful. My heart felt full to see Matthew so interested.
