Whoever thinks that this contraption is an innocent one for the day we are here, keep reading because it is not so. I also thought it was a joke, but no, I had to go to the designer's website to see that it really exists. I don't know very well how to define it, we would say that Smart Baby Case is a kind of suitcase carries babies But would someone put their son there? In what situation?
The Smart Baby Case is a futuristic-looking capsule with wheels that has several doors through which to “interact” with the baby. There are safety doors that allow the baby to breathe naturally and protect him when the pressure is too low. It has a purified air emitter, and an LED screen thanks to which we can know if the air the baby breathes is healthy.
The screen also allows us to see the baby and that he sees us (a photo? Recorded images? A portable camera in front of the face of the transporter of the car? And if I look out the window?) .
Inside the capsule there is an automated balancing system and for the baby's hygiene it has been thought of an automatic diaper.
And it is that the machine has a diaper system that relies on a humidity detector to remove water or solid waste. The stool is dragged away from the baby to a waste storage unit by means of communicated tubes. So, I imagine that the baby will have to go without clothes so that the automatic maneuver is minimally feasible ...
The inner surface of the suitcase is covered with foam pads so that the baby's head and spine are in a good position, and the head is also protected by liquid-filled pads that will prevent damage of all kinds. In addition there are straps and hooks for a perfect hold. The Smart Baby Case works with rechargeable batteries or electric charge.
An inhuman and quite unlikely design but real, made by Iranian creator Pouyanm Mokhtarani for the Samsonite luggage brand. On the designer's website we find all the details, such as that it is not intended to transport the baby regularly (thankfully!), But only for two or three hours in situations where we cannot take care of the transport or hygiene of the baby because Health or safety conditions are appalling. Or for transportation at airports.
It also indicates for good use that the main door (I would say "cover") should only be closed in catastrophic conditions (we imagine that it will refer to an earthquake, a hurricane, a war ...) or there is dangerous contamination or chemical pollution for the baby's health
We do not know if any company will bet on the product, although on the same website of the designer we find that it has been created for the Samsonite client. But on the website of the famous luggage brand I have not managed to find this cart that, among other things I think claustrophobic and I don't even know if I would put my baby there in case of chemical attack or any other disaster.
The fact is that earlier this year Samsonite invited designers to develop products that would make it easier to travel with babies. Luckily, as I say, I have not found it in the catalog of brand novelties.
we hope that the Smart Baby Case, this strange baby carrier, stay as a mere prototype, the truth is that I still do not give credit to this invention. If someone thinks it could be useful for those uncomfortable airport transfers and save diaper changes, I would advise you to travel without your baby. And, of course, I would ask that they let it pass as “luggage” hand in airports, it is not going to be that someone comes up with a bill…
