The importance of dad talking to the baby inside the gut

It was previously believed that the father did not have an active role until the baby was born, but we know that the prenatal stage is extremely relevant for the development of the baby's personality. Therefore, it is emphasized not only that the mother connects with him, but also in the importance of dad talking to the baby inside the gut.

Parents who get involved from pregnancy and who talk to the baby every day in the gut establish a greater emotional bond and a better relationship with their child.

This was stated by psychiatrist Thomas R. Verny, founder of the American Association of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology, who has recently been in our country in a conference aimed at midwives organized by Suavinex.

The baby is an emotional being and it is from the moment that his brain is able to receive stimuli. It is not known for sure what is the precise moment in which the baby begins to feel influenced by the signals that arrive from the outside world, but it is approximately after 20 weeks when the area of the brain intended for hearing receives sounds that produce emotions.

Listening every day to the voice of his father who speaks to him in a loving tone sends positive signals to his small brain in gestation, which contributes to shaping a healthy and balanced personality.

According to the specialist, it is valid to compare the baby who has not yet been born with a 6-year-old child, since it will influence his personality in different ways to be ignored or not by his father.

Haptonomy, or science of affectivity, is also a practice directed in that same direction: that of establishing a link with the unborn baby, but in this case through touch.

In conclusion we can say that the participation of the father, through touch, voice and accompanying the mother during pregnancy, is essential to create an early emotional bond with the unborn baby, which of course will impact on your life outside the womb .
