Take care of your ears, interactive material for children's acoustic health

Today we talk about a CDRom available online that aims to educate about children's hearing health, an interesting material aimed at the little ones called "Take care of your ears" and that we can find Spanish and in English.

The subtitle would be "Prevention of noise-induced hearing loss in school age", and it is a material prepared by the Audition, Noise and Disability Research Group of the Institute of Research in Neurological Disabilities (IDINE) of the Castilla_La Mancha University.

It is aimed at school children, it is quite simple and has several sections that guide the child to guess questions about the hygiene of the ears and the noises that can damage them, the good use of headphones ...

Children can also create their own sound landscape as a game, selecting those elements that do not exceed decibels that may pose a health risk, which are measured in a "thermometer" that marks acceptable and dangerous sounds, these last as usual in urban environments.

Another section is the one that proposes a journey inside the ears, to know how the auditory system works, how sound is transmitted, how is the ear inside…

An interesting proposal that is presented for children as follows:

We invite you to discover your ears and know the magical world inside. We also help you take care of them, both in hygiene and in the sounds you hear. Take care of your ears, you have two and no spare. Let's not turn a deaf ear to the education of hearing and listening.

The truth is that the ears and the sounds to which we expose them are often forgotten about health prevention, we do not realize all the elements that can damage them. That's why I find it interesting "Take care of your ears", this interactive material available to everyone for the acoustic health of children.
