The children's thematic television channel Clan could disappear

Our companions of ¡Vaya Tele! they published a few days ago an entry where they talked, among other things, about the crisis that RTVE is going through and that, following it, the children's thematic television channel Clan could disappear.

Apparently, the RTVE Council affirms that the cancellation of the Clan space is necessary to be able to cope with the cut of 200 million euros over the previous budget of 1,200 million euros provided by the Government. The crisis is wreaking havoc at all levels, and now we are in a time of saving.

The problem is not to keep the channel open, since the cost is not so high as to have to do without the adventures of Pocoyo and his friends. Nor is it a problem that you do not have the series aimed at children necessary to have a complete grill. The real problem is the issuance of each first pass of the chapters of those series, since it represents a fairly high cost for the company, taking into account the current budget and the commitments already made for this year; Both things are incompatible.

The children's thematic channel of TVE Clan has on its grill a large number of series that come from the United States, being an expensive product for the company. We have said that the problem is not that you do not have a large number of series to fill the content of the channel, but it would mean the constant replacement of the programs whose rights you already have. Come on: that our children would see the Gormiti again and again making the same trips to the world of Gorm ...

This decision to be able to suppress the children's channel is due to the fact that, according to the RTVE president José Manuel Silva, due to the aforementioned budget cut, the company faces a difficult situation, since what they do not want it is neither touching the template nor the territorial centers that the chain has.

It seems obvious that, given the economic situation that the country is currently going through, the jobs of people working in the public television network are maintained, but personally, I believe that the elimination of Clan is not the solution, since the existence of a channel dedicated to children is very important.

I would be very sad if in the end the children's themed television channel disappeared since children are not to blame for adults to do things one way or another. At the end of the day, when they decide that they want to entertain themselves a little while watching television, they only think about how Placton will try this week with Mr. Crab's recipe or what Martín Martín will become when he wakes up. I ask, please, to reconsider this option of depriving the little ones of their thematic channel looking for other options that benefit everyone ...
