A nine-year-old girl creates and donates "birthday boxes" for children whose families cannot afford a party

Celebrating a birthday is undoubtedly a very special event, since not only is another year of life celebrated, but it is also a good time to recount everything lived and share it with the people we love most. And without a doubt for children, their birthday is one of the most anticipated and exciting moments.

But the reality is that sometimes for economic reasons, not all children can have a birthday party. A nine-year-old girl realized this, and had a great initiative: donate "birthday boxes" for children whose families cannot afford a party.

Bella Smith is a nine-year-old girl, originally from Kentucky, United States, and is responsible for the "Bella's Birthday Boxes" initiative, in which through donations from the community, gather basic elements to celebrate a birthday, place them in a box and then donate them to families in need.

It all started two years ago, when a classmate from Bella told her she wouldn't have a birthday party because her family didn't have the money to pay for it. This is a common situation at Bella's school, since 80% of the student population comes from families with low income, since their school is part of a special program, in which the US Department of Education finances the education of children from low-income families, so they can continue studying.

For that reason, many of the students find it difficult to have many things, including a birthday party. That's when Bella decided to do something to cheer up her classmates and with her mother's help, she created the birthday boxes initiative.

In them, Bella puts what is necessary to prepare and decorate a cake, as well as dishes and some decorations such as balloons and party hats, so your classmates can have something to celebrate their birthdays with.

Everything she collects to assemble the boxes comes from donations from the community, and even for her own birthday she asked that instead of giving her gifts, they donate more things in order to continue with his initiative.

Bella carries more than 65 boxes made this year, which she distributes through a family resource center located inside her school, and It has also begun to deliver them to shelters for women and families.

Through his Facebook page and thanks to the visibility that some media have given to his project, he now receives donations from many places in the United States, to continue delivering boxes and that more children can have a birthday celebration.
