IPediatric is an application for Apple devices designed for parents with newborns

Although the reach of Babies falls more on the site of Babies and More I have not been able to resist commenting on the Spanish application iPediatric developed for Apple mobile devices and for newborn children, from 0 to 12 months. In addition, the application specifies that it is for children born at term and without neonatal diseases because the iPediatric office is less reliable in the case of premature children or those with congenital diseases.

And is that iPediatric is an application with highly reliable and proven medical content which has been carried out with the collaboration of three prestigious specialists from the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Barcelona. They are the doctors Santiago García-Tornel Florensa, Juan José García García and José Mª Quintillá Martínez who have developed it with great medical rigor.

The application has been developed by Edicions Tarongeta S.L. and launches with a promotional price of 1.59 euros. It occupies 4 MB and is published in Spanish, Catalan and soon in English, French, German and Italian. In addition, the creators, given the expectations created, have indicated that They will expand it to include content for children over one year and that it will also have an Android version although conditioned on the success of iPediatric on iTunes.

iPediatric allows, once the conditions of use of the application have been read and accepted, to censor the minimum data of the baby in a complete file. In the application you can find a dictionary to identify problems or diseases typical of the first year of age, achievements achieved by the baby in his psychomotor development, access a consulting room with a list of more than 80 different symptoms that includes a handy search engine, graphics of measurements of weight and length of the baby and access to the baby's record. More than one baby can be registered.

It seems to me an impressive application and of which Dr. Santi, whom we follow daily in his great blog, will have contributed with all the experience and practical knowledge that he has gained in his many years of profession at the Children's Hospital San Juan de God of Barcelona

We congratulate the authors because they have dared to make the leap to new technologies by making it easier for parents to inform us quickly What could be happening with the baby. In any case the application should not be a substitute for medical professionals and in case of doubt, and as indicated by the application, you should go to the pediatrician.
