A dog saves the life of a nine-week-old baby

In these days when it is difficult to find real heroes, it is a dog that is taking all the medals by demonstrating an impressive love and fidelity. His name is Duke and he's been a dog that lives in the Brousseau family's home in Portland, Connecticut, for six years.

The family adopted him in an animal shelter and last Sunday night he showed them that he is certainly one more at home when saved the life of Harper, the nine-week-old daughter of the Brousseau marriage.

As the parents explained, they slept peacefully when Duke, the dog, jumped on his bed very alarmed. They were surprised because he had never done anything like it. Duke was shaking so much that they immediately realized that something was happening.

The marriage ran to Little Harper's room to see how she was. The girl had stopped breathing. They quickly called emergency services and Harper was taken to the hospital where she saved her life.

For Janne, Harper's mother, it is clear that the true hero of the story is Duke, since if it had not been for him his daughter would have died almost certainly, so he says that “He is the perfect dog. He was born to be ours, and our daughter ”.

Surely many of you know similar stories about dogs that alert their caregivers of something going wrong. I always get excited because they show that dogs are very faithful, but a lot. The truth is I am amazed that Duke realized that the girl had stopped breathing and that his reaction was to notify the parents. Also (I'm sorry, but I have to say it), I'm also amazed that a nine-week-old girl was sleeping alone, without her parents present, in another room. Lucky he wasn't alone at all, lucky Duke was.
