TweetPee, an application to know when to change the diaper (and I thought it was enough with smell)

When we thought everything was already invented, we are surprised by TweetPee. Sometimes we find unusual inventions that we want to share with you and we could not stop commenting. TweetPee is an application that lets you know, thanks to a tweet, when to change the baby's diaper.

I thought that with the nose everything was solved, there is only to bring the baby's nose (or approach the baby to the nose, depending on the position and size of the nose) and we detect immediately if there is a gift in the diaper. Even with touch, we learn to distinguish after a few diapers when they are "loaded." Well no: you have to invent alternatives.

But, an alternative, to what? Is TweetPee an alternative to make our lives more comfortable? To be more "cools", different, special? It may be that having to connect an "appendix" to the diaper (bird-shaped, of course) subtracts comfort from the matter, but perhaps those who decide to try the application if they feel special.

Or it may just be a strategy of the diaper brand that has devised it to promote itself (Huggies), so that we can talk about this invention so "progressive" that we could certainly add to the list of useless gadgets for babies.

I recently read about an application that also told you about twitter when your plants needed water. I found it quite ridiculous, although perhaps, as having the absolute record of death of plants in charge, I am not the most appropriate to talk about it. I thought, how much does it cost to take a look at the plants to see if they need to be watered?

What I did not imagine is that this type of technology was to be applied to people. In the case of TweetPee the operation is similar to that of plants, although in the opposite direction, since what it detects is moisture.

The company has presented this curious gadget in Brazil, which consists of placing a plastic device hooked to the front of the diaper and TweetPee will be in charge of sending a message to the application (which has previously been downloaded to the iPhone) at the moment that the humidity sensor notices that it is necessary to change the small one. In this video you can see the operation.

The application is also able to notify other alerts, such as the end of diaper stocks and the need to buy more. In this case, the diaper brand offers the possibility of buying them without leaving home, through TweetPee. Another of the functions of the application is the consultation of the statistics that is created through the change of diapers, and is the consumption of them.

At the moment it is not known if the invention will be launched in the market in other countries, nor is the price of the new product known. He will be successful? Will we see retweets of diaper changes notices?

Have you ever seen yourself in the situation of messaging with someone you had next to or close enough? It's funny, as a game is not bad, but as that you should also see this pee detector. How far are we from the baby that we need this "remote control"?

Is that I find no use anywhere, because I do not think it is appropriate if the baby sleeps, both because of the discomfort (and even possible danger) of the little dog hooked to the diaper, because, if he does not wake up by a pee, neither we are going to do it to change it ...

And then, to comment everything, what happens if there is "solid waste" on the back of the diaper and the device does not detect it? In this case, sure, the smell continues to win any application ... And is that the contact of mom or dad is irreplaceable, as we recently told you when talking about an "automatic whisper."

Sincerely, I hope that this kind of little cakes in the style of TweetPee, the application that tells us when to change the baby's diaper, do not become fashionable because I no longer know what the following may be. Implants in the baby's stomach to know when to fill it? With notices synchronized in all your profiles on social networks, yes ... Better I am not ideas.
