Make your baby's first birthday piñata yourself

The multicolored Mexican-style piñatas is something I have always wanted to do. They give a touch of color to any birthday and can be a nice memory of that day. We show you today how make your baby's first birthday piñata yourself. (I say "yourself" but it also applies to parents, there are some very skilled).

You have to make the structure of the number 1 in cardboard (you can serve a box of cereals) by cutting two identical pieces, since you are going to be three-dimensional. You also have to cut the pieces that go to the sides, which will give volume to the piñata, and join them with adhesive tape.

Then cut the multicolored strips on tissue paper. The easiest thing is to fold them, cut the fringes and then unfold them, and you already have the strips. It only remains to paste them on the cardboard, always starting below.

You can see a complete tutorial with photos of the step-by-step instructions in The Seetest Occasion.

This type of piñatas does not have sweets inside, but if you want you can place them leaving the top part open and placing a thinner paper underneath with a thread so that the children can pull it.

Of course, if you dare, you can make the piñata with any number, depending on how old your child is. And the most beautiful, you can keep it as a souvenir and use it to decorate your room.
