About a year ago we showed you an analysis of Fil'Up, a very useful mesh scarf for the summer that made us a great service to take the coolest child. Now Guim is already 16 months old and, although we continue to use this scarf, there are times when it is more practical and faster to carry it with a lighter system.
I am referring to SUPPORi, a ultralight baby carrier that we bought a couple of months ago, which is also made of mesh, and therefore suitable for summer, and that has the peculiarity of fitting in any bag (when we go out I usually put it in mine, just in case), because It occupies very little and weighs only 80 grams.
Small and very practical
The best of SUPPORi is that folded can be put in any bag and almost in any pocket. It weighs nothing and can always be carried on just in case. It is a baby carrier that admits few positions, because as you can see in the images it consists only of one area for us and another area for the baby, but for a logical reason: to be more versatile it should have more fabric and occupy more.
Let's say it's a substitute-arms. It is indicated for babies who are already starting to stay seated (around 6-7 months) and up to 3 years, although I see it more for children who are already walking a little and when they get tired or overwhelmed they ask for arms. Not to go down the street with the child in his arms, which can get quite tired, SUPPORi serves as that support that allows the child to be seated next to us, carrying the opposite shoulder instead of the arm.
For children who still do not walk (between 6 and 12-15 months) it could be useful if we take you in the stroller and it is one of those that from time to time overwhelms and asks us for arms. If we do not carry a stroller because we always take you in a baby carrier I would use it only for short periods, a little walk, go for a message, etc., because it only covers part of the back and part of the leg and I do not see it comfortable enough for a child to fall asleep.
Various colors and sizes
He SUPPORi It is made with 100% polyester and can be washed in the washing machine. There are many colors to choose from and many sizes.
The size issue is because It is a baby carrier for individual use. By not carrying any type of ring, knot, or fastener, there is no possibility of adapting it to different people, so the size should be that of the person who wants to carry the baby. Miriam, my wife, bought one for her and it doesn't work for me, because when I put it on, the child doesn't fit inside anymore.
Marks on legs and back?
I have read some mothers explain complaints when the edges of the baby carrier are marked on the children. Being grid and relatively elastic it is possible that the edges of the fabric bear more weight than is desirable. With Guim we have not noticed anything, but it is also true that it still does not reach 9 kilos. A child of 2-3 years who can weigh up to 13-15 kilos could have these problems. In addition, concentrating all that weight on one shoulder does not think it is very pleasant if the child is going to be a good time on.
I recommend it?
Taking this into account and considering what it is, which is for only one person and is not too versatile, it remains to answer the question about whether I recommend it or not. The answer is yes. We bought it in Kangura for € 40, which may be a bit high price if we consider that only one of the parents can use it, but I recommend it because it seems to me a beautiful baby carrier, which takes up very little space, very light and It fulfills its function perfectly: relieve arms and be able to take the child for a while.
