Smoking during pregnancy could affect the baby's fertility (and so many other things ...)

There are many reasons to quit smoking during pregnancy, however it is a matter that is difficult for many women (others, I want to think that the less, do not try). Tobacco during pregnancy could affect the baby's fertility.

It is clear that tobacco not only affects our health but also that of the fetus in the womb, but it is that during intrauterine development any harmful effect has its consequences in the future. And since tobacco smoke affects overall health, the reproductive system does not have to be an exception.

There are studies that have evaluated the impact of tobacco on the fertility of children and indicate that in the case of children, there is a reduction in sperm concentration of between 20 and 40%, while in regard to Girls' fertility will also be affected, as they will have limited ovarian function.

But, honestly, I don't think this is the greatest danger, since tobacco causes multiple short-term complications in the world to pregnancies and births, leading to premature births and low birth weight babies, and even fetal deaths in extreme cases

And it is that the tobacco produces the deterioration of the placental function. The mother's bloodstream, which is the only source of nutrients and oxygenation that the fetus receives, is filled with toxic elements when smoking, harmful elements that the future baby receives, which is deprived of adequate oxygenation, for example.

There has also been much talk that tobacco increases the risk of behavioral problems and depression in children, cardiovascular, respiratory problems ... The increase in cases of asthma or sudden death are also among the risks.

There are multiple studies that blame one or another risk for children's health, but still, many women in the world still smoke pregnant.

I believe that new research on the subject will continue to appear in the future, and no matter how much new harmful effects on health are discovered, smoking will continue. Pregnant women, and also those around them (but here we already talk about a problem of lack of important consideration).

Definitely, smoking in pregnancy not only harms the health of children and of future grandchildren and even great grandchildren, there may also be less chance of having those grandchildren. They seem like enough reasons to quit smoking, or at least seriously try ...
