The Walt Disney Company and Protégeles celebrate Safe Internet Day on February 11, 2014

As we had commented in a previous article, next February 11 the 11th anniversary of the International Safe Internet Day, an event promoted by the European Commission and organized by INSAFE, the European Network for a Secure Internet. In Spain the initiative is led by Protégeles, the Internet Security Center for minors. The message of this edition is Together we can create a better Internet and is celebrated in more than 70 countries in Europe and the rest of the world in order to promote a responsible and safe use of new technologies, especially among minors and youth.

The Walt Disney Company reaffirms its commitment to the protection of minors in the network and joins the initiative with the NGO Protégeles, after the agreement signed two months ago at the Spanish headquarters of the European Commission. Both organizations work with the common objective of protect and guarantee the safety of the child in new technologies and promote responsible use of them.

Disney Channel has prepared for that day a special program with the broadcast of four videos in which the most charismatic characters of the channel will teach the youngest advice on Internet security. The protagonists of the successful series Violetta Y Phineas and Ferb They will be in charge of advising the audience about the risks of the network and how to make proper use of the new technologies. In addition, three episodes will be broadcast that affect the importance of safe Internet browsing. They are those of A.N.T. Farm, Austin and Ally and My dog ​​has a blog.

Also at Club Penguin on February 11 the campaign starts It all starts with you in order to raise awareness among parents and minors of the risks involved in inappropriate use of the Internet. Also on the Club Penguin page a new section called Security in which parents will find advice on how to act against the dangers of the Internet and a game for children that tests their knowledge about Internet safety.
