The Juan March Foundation digitizes the catalogs of its exhibitions since 1973 and publishes them on the Internet

The Juan March Foundation makes available to all audiences a page full of attractiveness and interest because it includes the full content of the 182 catalogs of exhibitions organized since 1973 at its headquarters in Madrid, Cuenca (Museum of Spanish Abstract Art) and Palma (Juan March Foundation Museum). It is a documentary fund in continuous updating, whose fundamental objectives are dissemination, promotion, research and knowledge of art and its exhibitions among students, amateurs and professionals.

When I heard about the news via Jesús Encinar, I looked for the exhibition I went to with my daughter when I sure was not yet old enough to do it, although we could still see some of the works represented. It was the Roy Lichtenstein Exhibition called Beginning to End (from beginning to end) of the year 2007, that is, my daughter was four years old. What I remember is that it was the fastest exposure I've seen in my life because as fast as we entered through one door we went out through the other. Although it gave us time to enjoy some of the most interesting works of this American pop art painter known especially for the interpretation of reality in which he applied comic techniques.

Art catalogs since 1973 can be accessed, consulted or downloaded freely and without any cost. The works gather more than 27,000 pages, texts of more than 400 authors and images of 18,000 works almost 1,400 artists. The Juan March Foundation website incorporates an advanced navigation system that allows searching on the Internet and also in the contents of the catalogs.

Our Xataka Foto colleagues also tell and appreciate the effort of the Juan March Foundation for the dissemination of this extraordinary content. Obviously I also join that thanks.

We remind you that this Foundation contributes to artistic dissemination with exhibitions, conference calls and concerts of classical music. It is headquartered in Madrid, Palma de Mallorca and Cuenca and it is convenient to be attentive to its programming to encourage children and schools to come to know it, enjoy it and now also access all catalogs since 1973.
