Sensory processing disorder: a disorder that affects the quality of life of people with ASD

"One of the many battles that people with autism face every day" ... The video "Kitchen" is produced by the British National Autistic Society, and aims raise awareness about the so-called Sensory Processing Disorder.

It is a "disorder" that affects approximately three percent of children, and is very common in Autism Spectrum Disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.

It is a topic to expand, although the purpose of this post is to show you the video, in which you can see how an affected person perceives habitual sounds at home, and that others can go unnoticed.

In fact the quality of life of these people is affected, and its manifestation does not materialize only in the perception of these sounds (from small knocks of a door, to more intense noises like an ambulance siren). Sometimes the texture of the food becomes a problem, or also the touch of the clothes on the skin, etc.
