Carolina Barco: "Nico the Entrepreneur wants to wake up and boost the entrepreneurial attitude of the child towards life"

In Peques and Más we present to Carolina Boat, an entrepreneur, writer, lawyer and coach with experience in consulting in the audiovisual and editorial sector who has also carried out teaching activity in film schools. Carolina wears More than 15 years of entrepreneurial activity experience living emotions and learning valuable lessons. Carolina has a lot of experience and information to encourage others to become leaders and entrepreneurs and share many thoughts on her blog.

Just launched the project Children's Stories called Nico the Entrepreneur in which, through each story, a necessary value is transmitted to "undertake" in life. Each story includes, in the end, a guide intended for parents and educators in order to help them extract the lessons from the story and can apply them in their daily lives. And is that Carolina is absolutely convinced that the skills, attitudes and knowledge that make up entrepreneurial talent begin to be cultivated as a child. And that, at that stage, the role of the adult is essential. We leave you with Carolina who will present us in Peques and Más the project of Nico the entrepreneur which also already has its page in social networks.

For what ages does Nico the Entrepreneur apply

Nico the Entrepreneur is especially aimed at children up to 6 years. However, our stories are not only for children but also for adults. That is why a guide for parents and educators is included at the end of the story, which is useful for any adult who wants to stimulate the child's learning and their own.

What is the function of this guide?

Each story focuses on a value or an entrepreneurial attitude. And from the story that lives in him, Nico extracts an apprenticeship. Nico is in that stage of life where he is laying the foundations of his personal growth and development. And while he builds them, he helps those who are around him doubt our own. The guide offers us an opportunity to reflect, doubt and perhaps transform certain behaviors that adults have towards children.

Why you have to teach children to be entrepreneurs

Because entrepreneurship is much more than creating and running business. In fact, you can be an entrepreneur working for others. The entrepreneur is that person who leads his life, who makes decisions freely and autonomously, who sees and takes advantage of both personal and professional opportunities, who takes responsibility for his actions and learns from them, who trusts his resources, who knows how to manage the fear, frustration and so many other emotions, etc. Therefore, don't you think teaching children to be entrepreneurs is to provide them with tools for their happiness?

How Nico's books can be obtained

We hope shortly (between September and October 2014) to put on sale in digital format the first of the stories entitled If I can! We planned to do it last June but some technical problems prevented us. The texts of the story are designed for the age of the children to whom they are addressed, the illustrations by Mario Pereda They have a lot of life and color and the guide offers that opportunity to make the most of the learning that the story wants to convey and apply it to the lives of those who read it.

What are Nico's expansion plans

The most immediate is to publish Yes I Can! in English in digital format, which we may also do during this year. And the next is to continue with the collection and be able to launch the second of the stories to the market.

It would be great if Nico was a tool for entrepreneurial education in schools

You are going to introduce Nico to the schools

Although we do not have any plan planned in this regard, it would be very good if Nico was a tool for entrepreneurial education in schools. There are already initiatives throughout Spain that introduce entrepreneurship in schools, so that Nico could become a reference in this regard. Hopefully.

In fact, the first of the stories is Prologued by José Antonio Marina which is an impetus and fervent believer of the need to introduce entrepreneurial education in school education.

How are you spreading the project

Basically through Facebook where we explain the progress of the project and write about issues related to the education of entrepreneurial talent. We also keep an account updated in @NicoEmprende

The stories of Nico the entrepreneur allow not only children to learn but also their parents and educators

What opinions and comments are you receiving about the project and how are you being encouraged to move forward?

All very positive because those who have read it have highly valued the content, the drawings, what it conveys, its intentionality, its need and the opportunity it offers that not only children but also their parents and educators learn from the story. Of course, this encourages us to continue and make it known to everyone we reach.

How can we help parents make kids follow Nico's recommendations

Being a good model for them and becoming an entrepreneur in your own life. Your child will see and learn.
