ECC Net Travel App: European citizens traveling abroad can now express their rights as consumers

The European Consumer Center has developed an application called ECC Net Travel App for mobiles, which advise European consumers traveling abroad. It is available in 23 EU languages, in addition to Icelandic and Norwegian.

And it is that while we travel we also have the right to exercise as consumers if problems arise in the rental of vehicles or reservations in hotel establishments, or if the flight to return is delayed, or if we buy a defective product ... Only the fact of not knowing how to use the Correct terminology, we would 'go crazy'.

The system has been presented in Spain by AECOSAN, and is characterized by providing legal information and linguistic support, so that travelers feel more secure in these matters. Other features of the application are its free, and offline operation to avoid roaming charges. It is available for mobile devices with iOS, Android and Microsoft Windows.

The information included covers the following topics: purchases, vehicle rental, hospitality services, accommodation, air, land and sea transportation and health services. In addition, a section with useful information offers necessary telephone numbers and contact information in case of emergency

Regarding the holidays, we hope our wish that everything works as scheduled, but what if it wasn't like that? Keep in mind that it is already quite an effort to make an effort with the language (we always launch ourselves with the country's own language, although we know that they would understand us in English or Spanish), the daily organization of outings, and the assimilation of customs of the summer place; if something does not go as we expect, at least with tools of this type we are calm.

It will now be easier to deal with unexpected situations abroad and express rights as consumers and the language of the country of destination.
