Chocolate UFOs for a special snack

When I gather a few children at home at birthdays, parties or for the pleasure of gathering cousins ​​and to have a good time together, one of the elements that takes time is to think about what to get for snack time. A few days ago, some dumplings with the shape of Chocolate UFOs for a special snack I prepared for my nephews and I tell you below in case you feel like trying them.

It is a very simple recipe that has no complications and in whose preparation, children can certainly help you, enjoying cooking in our company for a good while. Like all the meals in which they participate, they will love to eat them later. To make them healthier - within what is possible to be a bite with chocolate cream- we will make them in the oven instead of frying them.

Ingredients for 6 people

  • 12 empanadilla wafers, a bottle of Nutella or Nocilla or similar, beaten egg, icing sugar

How to make chocolate dumplings

We leave the chocolate cream on the refrigerator for two hours so that it is solid and not fluid to make it easier to manipulate it. It's about being able to make more or less manageable portions that we can focus on each wafer. It is a job that pretend a little, which is also fun, especially if we do them with them ...

We extend the dumpling wafers on the work table and on each one we place a portion of the chocolate cream. After we cover each wafer with another and we proceed to close our empanadillas, making a repulgue giving small folds, pinching each one on the previous one as you can see in the image. If it does not come out or you prefer, you can make the classic empanadillas closure using the fork to crush the edges getting them to join.

On a baking sheet, place the chocolate dumplings and the we put the fridge back for 30 minutes so that the cream remains hard. Meanwhile, we preheat the oven to 200º. We take the empanadillas from the fridge, we varnish them with beaten egg and the We bake until golden brown.

Tasting

I like to sprinkle these dumplings in the shape of chocolate UFOs with a little icing sugar, but that is to your liking - and that of those who will enjoy them. With one empanadilla per person - preferably taken after a sandwich or midnight, it is enough for them to end up with an excellent taste. They serve warm or cold.
