European campaign for a healthy diet: "Eat, drink, move!"

The European Commission has launched the proposal "Eat it, Drink it, Move it", "Eat, drink, move" with the aim of promoting a healthy diet among children and adolescents. The campaign, which will last 8 weeks, is complemented by an itinerant exhibition through seven countries of the European Union to inform and promote healthy eating among more than 18,000 children in 180 schools.

The aim is to promote a healthy and balanced diet through the "La Pandilla Sabrosa" website, which will soon be available in Spanish, where contests and an interactive treasure hunting game can be found, being able to qualify for a prize for the best classified . Through the web they will give children the opportunity to participate in educational activities and games.

The European Commissioner of Agriculture defends that we must act to curb the upward trend of childhood obesity, and now they do so through this campaign that aims to convey that it's fun to be fit.

The traveling exhibition will not go through Spain at the moment: Belgium, France, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Estonia, Lithuania and Poland are the chosen countries, where you will visit two schools a day.

We see a new front to act against the evil of obesity, as we mentioned a few days ago when talking about the new food safety law in Spain. At European level, it is complemented by the proposal to bring free fruits and vegetables to schools and promote milk consumption among children and young people.

So that the campaign for healthy eating "Eat, drink, move!", as well as the rest of the activities seem necessary strategies, since we talk about about 22 million children being overweight in the European Union, 5 million of whom are obese.
